Rent a Car Bucharest Airport - Otopeni and Baneasa
Terms and Conditions for Global Car Rental Bucharest
When you pick up the vehicle, you must sign the rental agreement and must present the original ID card or passport and the driving license.
Minimum driver age is 21. Maximum driving age is 70. Additional Drivers sign on and pay a fee locally. Drivers license must be held for a minimum of 1 year (some exceptions may apply).
All car rates are guaranteed in EURO, all local fees are billed in local currency. Additional fees may apply for rental service beyond hours of operation (between 08:00 PM and 08:00 AM or on legal holidays). Payments will be made at the pick-up time by cash or by credit card, in local currency (lei), using the official exchange rate (National Bank of Romania) + 1%. For confirmed bookings and advance payments you can pay by credit cards using fax order authorisation. To secure your booking, a one day rate is requested to be payed in advance. Please note that for all credit /debit card transactions a 2% fee applies.
Please note: at the time of pick up Active Rent a Car will require a security deposit to be left for the vehicle. This takes the form of an amount being blocked on the primary drivers credit card (cash deposits, Maestro, Switch, Visa Electron and debit cards are rarely accepted so please be sure to check with our agents at time of reservation if you require this facility). This amount will be returned in full at the end of the rental provided if the vehicle is returned in the same condition as rented.
Your rental includes:
- VAT;
- unlimited miles;
- liability Insurance for injuries or damages to persons or things outside the vehicle;
- Collision Damage coverage and Theft Protection for the vehicle (potential vehicle damage or loss liability is limited to an excess equivalent with the deposit value).
Optional coverage may be available for purchase at an additional cost that will reduce the insurance excess. You can choose full cover insurance (FCI), which will cover the risk of damage the car by your fault or with unknown author.
Please note that the insurance coverage does not cover damage to tyres, interior of the vehicle, towing charges in case of total damage, or damage caused negligently, willfully or recklessly.
In case of car keys loss a penalty of EUR 300 will apply and EUR 100 for the car documents loss.
Your rental DOES NOT include:
- insurance coverage for personal injuries to driver or passengers.
- gasoline or diesel. Client is advised to return the vehicle with a full fuel tank and to retain copies of gas receipts. A refueling service charge will apply if you have used, and not replaced, the quantity of fuel that we supplied at the start of the original rental. The charge will be based on the rated printed on the rental agreement or at the place you rented the vehicle from (or both).
- local toll, highway fees, or travel stickers required by local authorities
Please be aware that you are not allowed to use the rented vehicles outside the Romanian national roads. The total cost of the damages caused as a result of using the vehicle outside the network of national roads will be in the responsibility of the Client.
Travel outside the country is permitted with certain car classes; additional insurance is required and available at time of pick up, cost ranges EUR80 - EUR120 per period depending on car class. Countries of travel must be noted at time of booking. Travel into Moldavia, Ukraine and Albania is not permitted.
Optional items (i.e.: luggage rack, child seats, etc.) are on a request basis only, for an additional fee.
Deliveries/Collections are available on a request basis only, for an additional fee. Domestic One Way fee of approx. EUR40 - EUR180 depending on pick up & return locations.
All rentals are based on 24 hour periods with a 1 day minimum rental. If your drop-off time is later than your pick-up time, you may be charged for an extra day. We cannot refund any unused days if the vehicle is returned earlier. For further details, please contact us.
